Weekend Recap 8/24

Weekend Recap

We really enjoyed getting out this weekend and seeing our players on the court as well as meeting some new awesome families.

-Brookwood Tournament-
The decor of the tournament and set up was wonderful. You could see that the parents, coaches and players put a lot of effort into the day and Jackie and I loved attending. Great Job BHS! Also, there was nothing better then seeing all our girls and families from all 3 BHS teams helping around the courts! From check-in to selling Chick-fil-a to keeping score, AEVC families were in full action all with welcoming smiles on their faces! Love visiting BHS! BHS Alumni, Coach Amy would have been very proud.

Brookwood- Blair again dominated on the right side as the other defense could not pass the ball. Kelly again led the defense on the right side both in skill and senior leadership. We are missing Kendall very much as she is still out with a concussion! Get well soon Kendall!

Grayson- Although there were some tough games there was no stopping our Atlanta Extreme players! Abbey led the defense and is a freshman! Abbie and Chandler worked great as a combo to rack up points on the other team. It was easy to see that these two worked hard at club and had built a bond that is unstoppable!

Mountain View- Stronger defender, Aysha, was playing as libero and had some amazing passes as the other team found it hard to get anything past her no matter how hard they hit or where they placed it. Gabrielle worked hard to make sure to set the perfect sets to her teammates which ended with some nice kills and nice wins. It was also great to see the AEVC families and  AEVC alumni and AEVC Alumni Rep, Bre, in the audience cheering on her sister!

PCA- The heart and desire from setter, Casey, and libero, Carly, are undeniable and shows in everything they do. Casey was all over the court setting up great sets to her hitters as she has wonderful hands and also strong leadership and Carly made sure the offense knew she was always waiting for their ball!

GWA- Senior, Hannah, continues to show improvement just when you think she couldn't work any harder, she does. Her quick feet were able to get her under the ball to help set up great balls for her offense!

-Northview-
It is always sweet to go back to my Alma Mater to watch our girls play. It feels like yesterday until I realize our next reunion is already coming up! Wow!

Peachtree Ridge - Missing a few players, you could see that they team was down. After a tough loss and a fire speech from Coach Jackie and I, they team had a huge turn around and took the top NHS team to 3 games! I can just tell this team will only get stronger from hear on out!

NHS JV- Although we did not get to watch them, we need to give a huge Congrats to the NHS JV team that took home the championship this weekend! Way to go Milandi, Iris and Amarah! Cant wait to come watch you all soon.

-SSA-
This is always a fun tournament to attend as the talent level is always high! Coach Leslie had a great time getting out to watch Hebron as well as some other teams that ask we come out!

Hebron- Great job to our Hebron girls that certainly stood out from the rest: Alli, Ashleigh, AK, Bridgette, Courtney & Sarah!  WAY TO GO GIRLS!

-Mill Creek Fresh-
Coach Allison and Coach JM had a great time getting out to watch the freshman teams! It is so great to see what the future holds for our volleyball community!

-Druid Hills-
AEVC South was out in full force this weekend watching a list of potential players that emailed us. Even-though we are still on wait list for our coaches to come out, please continue to email us as we are able to see a lot of players per week!

Have a great week!
